Debbie has worked in education for over 40 years and has had a varied range of experiences, including becoming one of the country’s first National Leaders of Education in 2006 and leader of the first Teaching School in Kent in 2011. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she was CEO of a small secondary multi academy trust, having previously been a successful Headteacher and Executive Headteacher in a number of secondary schools in West Kent. Following her ‘first’ retirement, Debbie undertook part-time educational consultancy and school improvement work in East Sussex and the London borough of Brent. Since her ‘second’ retirement in 2020, she is kept busy being a governor of two secondary schools. As one of the original founder members of LLSE, Debbie is delighted to become a member of the Board and to continue the important work of developing teachers and leaders for the future.
