Middle Leadership Programme

A programme designed for schools/organisations to unlock the potential of their aspiring and new middle leaders. Providing practical and strategic tasks to deepen their knowledge, managerial confidence and skills as leaders.

Is the EmpowerEd Leaders Programme right for my aspiring and new middle leaders?

This programme is designed for aspiring (or new to the role) middle leaders, wishing to excel within their role, gain confidence, and develop their essential skills to equip them to become inspired leaders. Supporting them to navigate the complexities of managing others whilst considering strategies and change implementations.

What will they be studying?

Across 5 full face-to-face days, the participants will develop their leadership skills whilst enhancing their understanding of pedagogy and the curriculum to effectively and strategically lead others.
Participants will work on practical theories that can be implemented across their school and explore improvement priorities. They will collaborate and network with other leaders to deepen their understanding and share experiences.
The sessions will cover and are titled as below:

  • What are our vision and values, and how do leadership and management differ?
  • How can middle leaders influence change and manage time effectively?
  • How can we lead the curriculum and enhance pedagogy?
  • What strategies can we use to lead and manage others successfully?
  • How have we applied our learning to drive change in our schools? Project presentation day.

The course also includes a comprehensive 360° evaluation inbuilt to the online system they will have access to, which provides a unique opportunity for your middle leaders to reflect on their current strengths and areas of development. There is the option for schools to purchase coaching sessions as an add on to further support participants and unpick the results of their 360°.

How will my middle leaders embed their learning and have an impact as a result of the course?

Participants are required to undertake a change management project within their school as part of the course, which will be linked to their school or department's improvement priorities. At the end of the course participants will present these projects to an invited audience, which can include school senior leaders, MAT leaders, and those with governance responsibilities.

How much does it cost?

This course is designed as a package for schools with a minimum of 12 and max of 20 participants per school/organisation.

The cost information is POA, therefore please complete our Expression of Interest and we will arrange to send you further details.

What else do I need to know?

This is a fantastic opportunity for schools to invest in their middle leadership team. Supporting their development, growth, confidence and knowledge as leaders. This course provides the tools and practical theories for participants to effectively lead others whilst thinking about the bigger picture of the school/organisations priorities and capabilities.
We will work closely with the school/organisation to ensure that the dates of the session fit with the school's pace and calendar. We recommend that the course is staggered and takes place across 12 months to maximise the potential for the school-based project, however, we will be flexible with dates and customising the content to best suit the participant and school/organisation.
