This interactive and discussion-based programme is designed for leaders who want to integrate effective coaching and mentoring into their daily leadership practice. It provides a highly practical, research-informed approach to coaching, offering opportunities to develop, refine, and embed coaching and mentoring skills in a supportive, collaborative environment.

What does the ILM Level 5 entail?

This 6-month course is delivered across 3 modules and provides 42 hours of guided learning and 160 hours of total learning, coaching and mentoring. 
This is split into: 

  • 10 interactive online webinars (3 hours each, scheduled fortnightly during school term time). 
  • Self-paced independent learning to deepen understanding between sessions. 
  • Opportunities to practise coaching in every webinar session. 
  • 1:1 feedback and tutorials to support your development. 

This format ensures a structured, flexible, and highly practical learning experience, allowing you to develop and refine your coaching and mentoring skills in a supportive, interactive environment.

How am I assessed?

Assessments are externally set by ILM. 
With an assessment set at the end of each module in the following ways:  

  • Module 1: Assignment
  • Module 2: Portfolio
  • Module 3: Reflective Journal 

How much does the course cost?
